Equity Partner – Trade Marks & Copyright (AI Focus)

An AmLaw 100 law firm has exclusively instructed Real Legal in seeking an experienced Equity Partner to lead its Trade Marks & Copyright practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong specialization in artificial intelligence (AI), with particular expertise in machine learning and issues surrounding the ownership of materials used to train AI systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the firm’s Trade Marks & Copyright team, with a focus on AI-related matters.
• Advise clients on complex issues at the intersection of intellectual property and emerging technologies, including machine learning and data ownership.
• Develop and implement strategies for protecting and enforcing IP rights in the context of AI and digital innovation.
• Mentor and manage a high-performing team of IP professionals.

Requirements

• Current equity partner at a leading law firm or equivalent senior experience.
• Recognized expertise in trade marks, copyright, and AI, including machine learning and data training set ownership.
• Demonstrated track record of client development, with a portable book of business of at least $2.5 million.
• Experience leading and developing a team is highly desirable.
• Strong business acumen and ability to drive growth in a dynamic legal market.

Preferred

• A team of professionals who can join alongside the candidate.
• Thought leadership or published work in AI and intellectual property.
