The opportunity is based in a prominent U.S. legal market, with seamless integration across the firm’s nationwide platform.

The Construction Practice

The firm’s Construction Practice is consistently ranked among the most dynamic and effective in the United States. The team serves owners, developers, public agencies, contractors, and design professionals, delivering cost-effective solutions for complex disputes and major projects. With significant experience in contract drafting, dispute avoidance, and large-scale litigation, the practice combines technical legal skill with deep industry insight and a collaborative, cross-practice approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as first-chair counsel in high-value construction litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution for leading private and public sector clients.
  • Manage all phases of case strategy and execution, including early dispute assessment, case management, discovery, and trial or hearing advocacy.
  • Provide pragmatic advice on contract risk mitigation, claims, and regulatory issues across the project lifecycle.
  • Develop new business opportunities and maintain strong client relationships, with a significant portable book of clients.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to the firm’s national thought leadership and professional development initiatives.

Candidate Profile

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant state (or eligible for admission).
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in sophisticated construction litigation and arbitration.
  • Successful track record as first-chair trial lawyer in major construction disputes.
  • Well-established expertise representing developers, contractors, public entities, or engineering firms.
  • Portable book of business of at least $1,000,000.
  • Fee rates ideally in excess of $700/hour (flexible for strong candidates).
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and business growth skills.
